From physiotherapy to acupuncture and reflexology, choose from our range of treatments

Physiotherapy

If you are experiencing pain or stiffness, the chances are physiotherapy can help you. It will restore movement and function that is often lost when other areas of your body are compensating for an injury or dysfunction.

30 Minute Session | £43.50

Book Appointment

Physiotherapy is used to treat a range of conditions, from back and neck pain – including whiplash – to sciatica, and temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ) and jaw discomfort, to sports injuries

During your initial 30-minute consultation, the physiotherapist will take a full-detailed history of your symptoms followed by a physical examination. They will then make a diagnosis and discuss a treatment plan with you, advising on an estimated recovery time and the number of follow-up sessions you are likely to need. Follow-up appointments last 30 minutes.

Our experienced therapists will use manual therapy to ease your symptoms, combined with tailored exercises to strengthen muscles and improve mobility. In some cases, acupuncture is used in conjunction with physiotherapy, particularly when a patient is experiencing pain.

Here at the clinic we continue to evaluate and keep up to date with new research and evidence to ensure we are providing latest techniques.

We aim to ensure effective recovery in the quickest possible time, to enable you to resume your normal activities. But we also believe that it is important for patients to be able to manage their conditions and stay symptom free – well beyond their time in the treatment room. As well as carrying out physical treatment, practitioners will provide advice and guidance on posture and good health.

Stemming from ancient Chinese medicine, acupuncture involves fine needles being inserted into specific points of the body, for therapeutic purposes.
It is based on the belief that there is energy flowing through the body, known as Qi – when this flows freely the person is thought to be healthy. If there is any blockage or disturbance to the flow of Qi then this can cause illness. It is thought that acupuncture can restore the flow of Qi and promote health and wellbeing
Western medical acupuncture is based on scientific research which shows needles can stimulate nerves under the skin and in muscle tissue. The body also responds to the needle by producing natural substances, such as endorphins and serotonin. These are known to control pain, decrease inflammation and promote recovery.

What to expect at Back2Balance

During an acupuncture session the therapist inserts needles into specific areas of the body called acupuncture points. This aims to relieve pain, improve movement or function, and restore the body’s emotional and physical balance.
Acupuncture doesn’t cause discomfort and is generally very safe. It can cause different sensations, such as aching, tingling or a feeling of warmth. Acupuncture is relaxing and it may make you feel drowsy. If it does affect you in this way we advise you not to drive. If possible have someone come with you for your first appointment.

Our approach

At Back2Balance we use acupuncture as a complementary therapy to physiotherapy, to relieve acute pain and reduce muscle tension. We commonly use it to tackle headaches, whiplash, lower back pain and arthritis in the knee.

Cost

Acupuncture sessions cost £35 for a 30-minute session.

Sports therapy and massage is an important part of any sports, fitness and health plan. It’s not a privilege exclusive to athletes, but is open to everyone seeking relief from aches and pains.

Touch is an effective form of healing. The energy that flows through the hands can refresh, regenerate and revitalise. If you’re feeling stiff, tense or in pain from an energetic gym session or have a running or football injury, you’ll find sports massage incredibly beneficial.

A sports massage eases soreness, tension and tightness in muscles, whether work or sports related. It improves recovery time from training, leading to improved quality of performance. Sports massage can assist in the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and reduces recovery time should any injury occur. Likewise, it also helps general relaxation and stress relief.

What to expect at Back2Balance

Our therapist will provide you with an individually tailored, therapeutic programme aligned with your personal goals. You’ll receive an initial assessment and then the therapist will recommend specific conditioning, strengthening and flexibility exercises, alongside massage therapy.

Our therapist will incorporate a range of massage techniques, using her hands, elbows and forearms to work deep into the muscles. While having a sports massage is enjoyable and hugely beneficial, the deep pressure can cause some discomfort, especially when the therapist is working on tense muscles. It’s important to tell the therapist if you experience any pain outside of your comfort level.

Our approach

Every individual is different. Whether you’re suffering with an existing injury or you’re looking to prevent injuries in the future, our therapist will work with you to provide a tailored programme that meets your personal goals.

Cost

Sports therapy and massage costs £50 for a 60-minute session.

For more information about our sports therapy and massage treatment or to arrange a consultation, please give us a call on 0208 531 5662 or email us.
